Reports to: Managing Director

Embercombe is at a pivotal point of transition and as the Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in crafting a new marketing strategy to support the organisation’s new and ambitious business plan. This is an exciting and challenging role, where your experience and aptitude has the ability to influence the growth of the organisation.

In collaboration with the Managing Director, you will create a strategy that supports both the drive for revenue growth and communicating our message out into the world, taking into account Embercombe’s multiple target audiences namely education, corporate, venue hire, and individuals seeking inspiration from our range of personal development and leadership programmes.

Embercombe is a unique organisation with a diverse audience, so being able navigate and hold the complexity of the organisation’s strands of work is essential. With so many stakeholders, a collaborative and flexible approach is essential; as is your ability to make informed decisions and disseminate them in a way that keeps both the community and operational team informed. You will be adaptable and be able to lead, or work under direction on specific projects, and have the ability to work under pressure to multiple deadlines.

Your first priority in post will be to work with key stakeholders in identifying the organisation’s brand DNA, creating a clear set of messaging guidelines which can be worked into the over-arching marketing and communications strategy. Your role will entail taking responsibility for designing and delivering the marketing strategy, managing the marketing team, being accountable for the marketing budget and generating reports for the Board as well as the day to day practical aspects of the role. These include generating engaging content, managing social media and e-marketing campaigns, delivering targeted PR campaigns and ensuring the website is updated and optimised.

Interviews will take place between 5pm on Monday 11th April and 5pm on Tuesday 12th April.(This includes an evening and overnight stay at Embercombe).

The interview will be held at Embercombe, near Exeter. We will invite shortlisted candidates to join us for dinner in the evening of Monday 11th April. This is a chance to spend some informal time with the community and team at Embercombe. After a night in one of our yurts and breakfast together, you will undergo a day of interviews and interactions with the team at Embercombe. The day will finish between 4pm and 5pm on Tuesday 12th April.  Evidence of eligibility to work and live in the UK should be brought to the interview.
