The P.E.A. (People. Environment. Achievement.) Awards is calling all businesses and individuals with a passion for sustainability to come forward and enter the UK’s most prestigious green awards before 31 August 2016.

Now in its sixth year, the P.E.A. Awards celebrates the green heroes who are taking matters into their own hands and providing inspiring alternatives to business as usual. Entries are free and must be submitted via the P.E.A. Awards website before 31 August 2016.

The P.E.A. Awards 2016 categories include: Arts, Fashion, Film, Music; Britain’s Greenest Family; Business; Energy; Food; Generic; Health; Homes; Money; Resources; Technology; Travel.

The winners will be showcased in MyGreenPod Magazine, which is distributed quarterly with the Guardian newspaper, and to a number of digital distribution partners including Yeo Valley and ILoveFreegle.com databases. They will also be featured online at www.mygreenpod.com. As a result their stories could reach approximately 3 million ethical consumers. These sustainability pioneers will be recognised and rewarded at a glamorous green carpet event on 07 October 2016 at the innovative British Airways i360 venue on Brighton Seafront.

The judging panel includes lifestyle guru Jo Wood, founder of an award-winning organic beauty and fragrance range; Oliver Heath, TV presenter and founder of Heath Design; Nick Martin, CEO of the Green Party of England and Wales; Hugh Jones, MD of the Carbon Trust and Martin Wright, a director at Forum for the Future.

Jo Wood says: “I’m delighted to be on the judging panel of the incredibly important P.E.A Awards.  Shining a light on some of the change-makers of our time is not only inspiring, it gives us all hope for a brighter future.”

Last year’s overall winner, Clare Brook, CEO of the Blue Marine Foundation (part of the Great British Oceans Coalition, 2015’s overall P.E.A. Champion), said: ‘It’s truly gratifying to have our hard work and achievements rewarded so resoundingly by the P.E.A Awards. It will give our campaign a huge boost and ensure that everyone – particularly the UK government – continues to pay attention.’

Environmental ambassadors are invited to either nominate themselves or someone who has inspired them by writing 500 words about their great work, inspiring initiative or outstanding sustainability project.
