A few more thoughts...

You end on a seemingly dualistic set of options -- apathy or activism. Perhaps there are other alternatives, especially if activism is "resisting evil." Changing the "self" to a non-self might be another alternative. Walking away from the machine and creating something new might be another.

Recognizing the difference between "women's rights" and "our rights" might be another. The "elite" of the world have already used "women's rights" for their own purposes, destroying the family unit, giving our children to the state for its propaganda and doubling the tax base for the private Federal Reserve coffers in America and likely other central banks in other countries.

Recognizing that we're being played, when it happens, is also good. Reacting to their stimuli is, in effect, falling into the trap of ego and separateness.

Like Einstein seems to have said, you can't solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it. This article does a great job of helping the reader to snap out of such divisiveness.

Thank you!

Wow! This cuts to the bone and tickles all at the same time.

So much truth and wisdom, here.

I wonder though about the start of our "divorce." I suspect that it occurred long before we became Homo sapiens. "Human" was part of the cure, because without that clean "blackboard" of conscious continuity, extricating ourselves from the false construct of ego would've been impossible.

Hume's fork seems to be incomplete or poorly considered. "Determined" doesn't necessarily have to be external. That would be only action-reaction ego. Taking 100% responsibility is not only possible, but highly encouraged. That is when miracles happen. That is when we become one with the infinite. And with 100% responsibility, that leaves no room for being a victim (ego).

Cool revelation about "free will." I had never thought about it as ego. Really cool!

But there are some who would co-opt this notion of "eco," and use "ego" against us -- play "our egos" like a symphony to coax us into giving up our responsibility with things like carbon tax, zero population growth and other tyrannies. The same group that plays the "scarcity" card is suppressing "abundance" initiatives and creating more scarcity.

Like the wise man once said, "resist not evil," but turn the other cheek. This is taking perfect responsibility by not becoming separate.

Hi Rory-- yes, excellent article. Have earlier today been discussing similar issues with Dark Mountain folk at our regular meet. I agree on one level its a wonderful, exciting time and certainly many people are "shifting consciousness". However I am not overly confident of our ability to understand the extent of this movement. After all, the world "out there" is just a reflection of our mindset- we create the reality which we perceive as "the world out there"--- and its not looking too good right now. Our limited lifespan as humans limits our powers of perspective- something I think I understand better now as I get older! But, again that doesn't negate the feeling I have that there is only way to go- and thats forward and beyond our limited ego-centrism and into eco-centrism
Thanks for the article- I look forward to reading the book..
